How we compare
How we compare products, and what we have not done yet.

Test protocol
Rune has not tried these products yet – no results are published.
We compare products on facts we can check: what the maker says the tool is for, the price in US and UK stores on a given date, and customer ratings as each store shows them. Nothing on this site is a lab test or a hands-on review.
- Rune will buy each product himself and note price, weight and size.
- Each one will be used for 14 days, five times a week, for 5–10 minutes, following his fixed routine for the back, shoulder blade, hip, calf and foot (or face, for facial tools).
- After each session he will note how easy it was to reach the area, how even the pressure was, any discomfort, and how long it took.
- He will judge material, grip, cleaning and how the product holds up to daily use.
- Then he writes a short verdict per product with pros, cons and who it suits. Until then every product says “Rune’s verdict: coming”.
What we have done
We collected products from US and UK stores, recorded the price with the date and source, and wrote what each tool is for in our own words. We never copy customer reviews, and we never combine other people’s ratings into a score of our own. Where a store showed no ratings we could read, we say so.
What we have not done yet
Rune has not tried the products yet. That is why every card says “Rune’s verdict: coming”. We do not call anything a winner.
Evidence labels
Our evidence labels (good, some, weak, no good evidence) are our reading of reviews and health sources such as the NHS, Cochrane and Cleveland Clinic. They describe what is known about a type of tool, not a brand.
Money
We have no commission deals with the stores linked here yet. If that changes, we will say so on the page. PainFreeU makes its own app, PFU Pocket, which we label as our own product wherever it appears.
